What does email verification do?

Put simply, email verification is designed to remove bad (invalid) email addresses from your lists. Invalid email addresses turn into “hard bounces” when you send an email campaign.

What are hard bounces?

Hard bounces are email addresses that could not be delivered, for example due to an invalid mailbox. They are treated very seriously by most email service providers such as MailChimp, Constant Contact, Get Response etc.

Why should I care about hard bounces?

Most people come to us because their email service provider (ESP) has warned them about hard bounces. These are a real problem for your ESP and can get their servers blocked by some of the major ISPs such as Yahoo.  If your list contains more than a handful of invalid emails your ESP will ask you to verify the list before uploading into your account, or if not they may suspend your account.  If you run your own mail servers you will end up getting your IP addresses blacklisted by the major ISPs if you send more than a tiny percentage of invalid email addresses.

What does your verification service check exactly?

We do complete email verification including :-
Syntax – a simple check to ensure the email address conforms to common standards.
Domain – a lookup on the domain element of the email address to ensure it is configured to accept emails.
User – the really clever bit, where we check that the user mailbox exists (otherwise known as a SMTP check).

Is this a hosted service or a software download?

A hosted service. This is the only way we can offer the unrivalled coverage and accuracy that we do. All verifications are run from our global data centres using our huge network footprint.

How secure is my data?

Very. We take your security and confidentiality seriously. We know that your email lists are confidential and we do everything we can to make sure that they stay that way!
Please see our privacy policy for more details.

Where are you based?

We are based in the UK but our focus is completely global. We serve thousands of businesses in virtually every major economy in the world including USA, Brazil, Turkey, UAE, India, China, Indonesia, Germany, Australia, Canada – the list of countries served reads like the UN membership roll.

How does your pricing compare with other competitors?

There are surprisingly few companies in the world that can offer email verification in volume and with a high degree of coverage. We are one of the select few and compared with other quality providers our pricing is highly competitive. And we really mean that. Try getting the same coverage of Hotmail and Yahoo for less – you won’t!
