18 months is a long time in the technology industry and we’ve seen lots of things change since we started way back in January 2010 including:

• Email verification gets tougher all the time. Mail servers and anti-spam technology gets more sophisticated by the day. Grey listing, tar-pitting, SMTP layer filtering are some of the technologies that we work to keep up with on a daily basis to deliver the best possible accuracy of validation.
• Anti-spam legislation is constantly evolving. Canadian anti-spam laws to be implemented in September ’11 are potentially an complete game changer for the email marketing industry.
• DNS TLD’s continue to increase. 18 months ago, there were only a relative few TLD’s( e.g. .com, .biz, .info etc) but now there is scope for almost limitless custom TLD’s.
• The demands of our customers changes with bigger lists and more varied addresses (e.g. custom TLD’s).
• The expectation of our customers to process lists in shorter time scales is increasing.

For these reasons, we’ve decided it’s time to commit to improving our service offerings to meet these evolving demands.

On August 1st, 2011 we commenced a substantial redevelopment process to enhance every aspect of email-checker.com services. The primary aim is to deliver 1st class service to our existing and future customers. Here is a sneak preview of specific areas that we are targeting:

Customer Service

• Improved sales process. We are implementing a new e Commerce solution based on the Magento eCommerce platform.
• Improved invoicing. No more manual requests for invoices! We know that this is cumbersome for existing customers at the moment. Our new commerce platform will solve this problem by providing self service invoices etc.
• Integrated technical support. We already have a ticketed support system but we are aware that many customers find this confusing with multiple log on points etc. We are aiming to simplify this process substantially by integrating it with the new commerce platform. (note: This may not make it into the 1st release phase but it’s scheduled).

Product

Much of the product development road-map is confidential but we can share some key aspects of the improvements and enhancements scheduled for the next release (version 2) of bulk email checker:

Improvements

• Vastly improved performance. Less wait time.
• Increased accuracy. We already run some of the best accuracy numbers in the industry. Version 2 will utilise proprietary technology and leverage our experience and learning in the industry to further improve accuracy.

Enhancements

For commercial reasons, we can’t give away too many specifics at this stage but we can say that the service enhancements in development are very exciting – watch this space.

To achieve the objectives that we set out for version 2, we have a lot of work to do As with any project of this size, it’s nearly impossible to predict an exact date when we’ll be ready. However, our internal development plans are currently showing a launch date around November ’11.
